I'm really keen for a bit of a change. I have volunteered for years. I started with 2 weeks in Moldova where I met Hillary Brown. Hillary ended up starting a charity in Vietnam where I have volunteered for the last four years (for short 2-3 week periods each year).

My paid job is doing Case Work with asylum seekers being held in Community Detention is Melbourne. My background is counselling.

To be honest, I want to keep my volunteer work within the current charity I'm involved with. What I'm looking for is a piad position for 1 year- any where in Asia.

I'd love to hear from you.

RESPECT is the key for visiting any religious place in the World. Yesterday I met a guest visiting a temple in Thailand and I indicated that they should remove their shoes out of respect - and I was told that the "floor was too hot".

Okay some things like bowing your head to be below may be difficult BUT an effort will be recognised.

Hey monkey,
Thanks for commenting. Good luck with your thesis and grad school, we've been there, and it's a marathon. We're doing well, and you'll hear (literally, as I'm doing podcasts) more about what we're up to these days.

Cheers, J.

I hope all goes well, I can relate to the physical and mentally tired bit as my wife and I finish up grad school (me with my thesis), work and plan out our whole moving to South American and backpacking thing. Hang in there and hopefully all goes well.

Hey Avril,

I really enjoyed your article on monthly expenses in CM, since I am planning to move there this year. Even though CM wasn't my first choice, I figured it would suit my budget (which is $1000 / month) much better than other cities in the land of smiles.

I totally agree with you on your "less is MORE" point, as I feel the same way.

Thanks again!
